The National Union of Lawyers, Judicial Officers and Allied Workers (NULJAW) is a Labour Union founded on the principle of exercising our sovereign and inalienable right to freedom of association. We are committed to promoting social and economic interests and principles, and to fostering a honest, representative, viable, vibrant, voluntary, democratic, independent, and free Labour Union.
NULJAW operates with full cognizance of the existing and relevant legal framework, specifically Article 29 (1) (e) and Article 40 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, which guarantee workers' freedom to association as a vital means of improving conditions for Labour workers and ensuring sustainable progress.
To uphold the dignity of labour and preserve, strengthen and protect human and labour rights.
To fully organize and represent workers in the National Union of Lawyers, Judicial officers and Allied workers (NULJAW) to have their rights, social and economic interests well-articulated, advocated, promoted, and defended by the Union.
NULJAW aims to secure complete organization and membership of all workers employed in the justice sector. Our membership is open to all unionisable workers within the establishments demarcated by the Union.
Application for membership is addressed to the General Secretary using designated forms. Upon admission, members are bound by the Union constitution, rules, and decisions of its governing organs.
The General Secretary issues membership cards and maintains a current register of all members.
