About Us

Organizing for Legal Sector Transformation

The National Union of Lawyers, Judicial Officers and Allied Workers (NULJAW) is a voluntary, democratic labor union dedicated to protecting the rights and promoting the economic and social well-being of Uganda's legal profession. Established on the tenets of solidarity, fairness, and honesty, NULJAW empowers a diverse range of justice sector employees, including as attorneys, judicial officers, paralegals, and legal clerks, to succeed in their workplaces.

We work to protect and advance the socio-economic rights of legal sector workers by advocating for fair remuneration, safe working conditions, gender equity, and access to essential workplace benefits.

Strengthen Ethical and Professional Standards

National Union of Lawyers Judicial Officers and Allied Workers encourages the highest levels of integrity, competence, and accountability by supporting continuous legal education, peer engagement, and institutional reforms that promote ethical practice.

Amplify the Voice of Legal Workers

We represent our members in key dialogues with employers, government institutions, and development partners—ensuring that legal professionals are meaningfully involved in decisions that affect their work and the broader justice system.
