The National Union of Lawyers, Judicial Officers and Allied Workers (NULJAW) is a voluntary, democratic labor union dedicated to protecting the rights and promoting the economic and social well-being of Uganda's legal profession. Established on the tenets of solidarity, fairness, and honesty, NULJAW empowers a diverse range of justice sector employees, including as attorneys, judicial officers, paralegals, and legal clerks, to succeed in their workplaces.
Membership in NULJAW offers legal professionals a unified platform to advocate for their rights, engage in professional development, and contribute to shaping policies that impact the justice sector.
National Union of Lawyers Judicial Officers and Allied Workers is guided by clear, actionable objectives that reflect our commitment to the advancement of legal professionals and the strengthening of Uganda’s justice system. These priorities shape our advocacy, partnerships, and service to members
We work to protect and advance the socio-economic rights of legal sector workers by advocating for fair remuneration, safe working conditions, gender equity, and access to essential workplace benefits.
National Union of Lawyers Judicial Officers and Allied Workers encourages the highest levels of integrity, competence, and accountability by supporting continuous legal education, peer engagement, and institutional reforms that promote ethical practice.
We represent our members in key dialogues with employers, government institutions, and development partners—ensuring that legal professionals are meaningfully involved in decisions that affect their work and the broader justice system.
